In trustee life's journey, guided by the wisdom of Mani Gurunathar, Police Gurunathar, Nagasubramanian Gurunathar, M. Nagarajan Gurunathar, and S. Rajasekaran, the founder trustee went on a special pilgrimage called Sabari Yatra in 1986. Each step of this journey, led by Swami Paravidhyanandha Saraswati, created wonderful memories and left an indelible impact on his mind. In the company of Swami Paravidhyanandha Saraswati, he learned the meaning, purpose, and value of human life and understood the need for a committed approach and devotion to serving humanity and extending a helping hand to those in need. Believing strongly in the synergy of working together, the founder trustee, S. Rajasekaran, wants to inspire those around him to help others in society. He has seen how helping others creates the magic of making both the giver and the receiver feel good. This strong belief led to the founding of Shri Makara Jyothi Trust, which is now managed by an illustrious group of trustees.

Our Mission

The Shri Makara Jyothi Trust has successfully constructed a grand temple for Swami Ayyappa in Veeranar Thottam, Tanjavur Main Road, Saliyamangalam, 14 km from Thanjavur on the Tiruvarur Highway. This temple stands as a testament to the generous contributions of devoted donors from India and abroad, as well as the vision of the founding trustee, S. Rajasekaran..
To pursue cultural and religious activities on an ongoing basis so as to be of use to the people in the society at large irrespective of caste, religion, gender.
To create funds for conducting Nitya Aradhanas and festival Aradhanas, Bhajans, religious discourses, seminars on a regular basis in the temple.
To create funds also for regular Annadhanams for the purpose of feeding the poor, the orphaned, the differently abled on festive and other special occasions as decided by the trust.
To render necessary financial and physical helps towards providing food, shelter, clothing, medicines, relief to the needy and the affected people at the time of any natural disasters like floods, cyclone, drought and famine.
To support all religious and charitable activities towards welfare of the society in general and to propagate and implant religious and spiritual, cultural values.
To create funds for meeting the running establishment expenses and all the activities of the Temple/Trust and its infrastructure
To create funds for financially supporting orphanages, old age homes and rehabilitation centers for differently abled persons at the discretion of the Managing Trustees.
